Les Tassés – The beauty of imperfection

In specialty coffee, each bean is meticulously sorted before export. Some are rejected not because they are bad, but simply because they have a slight difference in size, shape, or calibration.

At 94 Celcius, we believe that exceptional coffee should never be judged solely on its appearance.

It is from this conviction that Les Tasséswas born, an exclusive collaboration with Wilton Benitez, one of Colombia's most innovative producers. The selected beans come from the same harvests, the same varieties, and the same processing methods as his most prestigious coffees. Their only difference is aesthetic.

In the cup, nothing is left to chance. You will discover an expressive coffee, with gourmet notes of exotic fruits, vanilla, and remarkable sweetness, all while participating in a concrete effort to reduce waste in specialty coffee.

Because in the end, it's the quality of the cup that matters, not the appearance of the bean.

Les Tassés was born from a simple belief: exceptional coffee should never be judged solely on its appearance.

In specialty coffee, each harvest undergoes extremely rigorous sorting to achieve perfectly uniform batches. During this stage, some beans are discarded due to slight differences in size, shape, or calibration. Yet, these beans come from the same coffee trees, the same harvest, the same varieties, the same terroir, and the same processing methods as the most prestigious coffees. Their aromatic potential remains very real.

For several years, we have collaborated with Wilton Benitez, one of Colombia's most innovative producers and a global reference in controlled fermentation and post-harvest innovation. Throughout our discussions, one question kept recurring: why discard beans that have so much to offer simply because they don't perfectly meet the market's visual standards?

It is from this shared reflection that Les Tassés was born.

Together, we chose to revalue these beans to give them a place in the cup rather than see them lose their value. This approach allows for better honoring the work done on the farm, reducing food waste, and offering a more responsible approach to specialty coffee.

Beneath their sometimes atypical appearance lies a rich, gourmet, and balanced coffee, revealing generous notes of exotic fruits, milk chocolate, and vanilla. Roasted with the same precision as all our coffees, Les Tassés offer an experience faithful to Wilton Benitez's expertise and 94 Celcius' quality standards.

Because ultimately, the beauty of a coffee is revealed first in the cup, long before it is seen in the bean.
