Great international recognition for 94 Celcius! From October 14 to 17, 2026, our coffees will be featured in Japan at SCAJ 2026, alongside world-renowned roasters such as La Cabra, DAK, Gardelli, Friedhats, and Market Lane Coffee.

Some news reminds us why we started this adventure in 2017. This is certainly one of them.

This year, 94 Celcius will be part of the international selection by PostCoffee presented at SCAJ 2026, one of the most important specialty coffee events in Asia.

For our team in Sainte-Julie, Quebec, seeing our coffees head to Japan and be featured among such respected roasters is a particularly significant milestone.

It is an opportunity to introduce our approach to Canadian specialty coffee to a new audience in a country renowned for its coffee culture, precision, and attention to detail.

94 Celcius alongside La Cabra, DAK, Gardelli, and Friedhats

When we discovered the PostCoffee international selection, it was hard not to feel a sense of pride.

Among the featured roasters, we notably find:

  • La Cabra (Denmark): an international benchmark known for its distinctive approach to roasting, sourcing, and the coffee experience.
  • DAK Coffee Roasters (Netherlands): a roaster particularly appreciated for its expressive aromatic profiles and exploration of experimental processes.
  • Gardelli Specialty Coffees (Italy): an essential name in specialty coffee, associated with precision in roasting and international competitions.
  • Friedhats (Netherlands): recognized for its creativity, bold identity, and the quality of its selections.
  • Market Lane Coffee (Australia): a company respected for its commitment to quality, transparency, and relationships with producers.
  • 94 Celcius (Canada): our small Quebec team, passionate about distinctive coffees, innovative fermentations, and the remarkable work of producers.

Other international roasters also complete this selection.

These companies have each contributed in their own way to evolving the standards and expectations in the specialty coffee world.

Finding 94 Celcius among these names is a huge honor.

This is not a ranking, but an opportunity to share the same international stage with companies we deeply respect.

SCAJ 2026: a major specialty coffee gathering in Japan

SCAJ (Specialty Coffee Association of Japan) is one of the most important events in the Asian specialty coffee industry.

Organized in Tokyo, the exhibition brings together roasters, producers, importers, equipment manufacturers, baristas, and enthusiasts from many countries.

Japan holds a special place in the world of specialty coffee. Its influence on extraction methods, service precision, and the appreciation of high-quality coffee is recognized throughout the world.

For 94 Celcius, having the chance to present our coffees to this community is an exceptional opportunity.

It is also a new step in our desire to spread Quebec expertise beyond our borders.

PostCoffee: a bridge between Japan and roasters around the world

Our participation in this international showcase is made possible thanks to PostCoffee, a Japanese company that allows coffee lovers to discover roasters from different countries.

As part of SCAJ 2026, PostCoffee will present a selection of international coffees, including those from 94 Celcius, through its CFFBNS space, booth 1404.

Our coffees will be offered there in drip bag format, an individual brewing method particularly popular in Japan.

This format allows one to easily prepare specialty coffee without complex equipment, while maintaining the pleasure of manual extraction.

For many visitors, this may be their very first encounter with 94 Celcius and Quebec specialty coffee.

And we find that idea particularly exciting.

A Quebec approach to specialty coffee that travels

Since the founding of 94 Celcius in 2017, our goal has remained the same: to offer remarkable coffees while exploring the possibilities offered by science, processing methods, and roasting.

Our approach is based on four fundamental values: rigor, ethics, curiosity, and exclusivity.

Over the years, we have developed relationships with producers who push the boundaries of specialty coffee, notably through controlled fermentations, experimental processes, and co-fermentations.

We also place great importance on the recognition of female producers and transparency surrounding the origin of our coffees.

This curiosity constantly pushes us to discover new varieties, new terroirs, and new ways of expressing the aromatic potential of coffee.

Our presence in Japan is a natural fit for this philosophy: sharing our passion, discovering other coffee cultures, and continuing to learn.

Canadian specialty coffee on the international stage

In recent years, Canada has seen the emergence of a community of independent roasters who are helping to advance specialty coffee.

Through their respective approaches, these companies demonstrate that innovation and excellence in roasting are not limited to the large markets traditionally associated with coffee.

At 94 Celcius, we are proud to contribute to this movement from Quebec.

Our presence in the PostCoffee selection at SCAJ 2026 testifies to the possibilities that open up for independent roasters wishing to share their work with an international audience.

It also reminds us that behind every cup are producers, partners, and a community that make this adventure possible.

From Sainte-Julie to Tokyo: a milestone we are proud of

When we launched 94 Celcius in 2017, we were far from imagining that our coffees would one day be presented in Japan alongside some of the most recognized roasters in our industry.

Today, this new milestone makes us want to continue our exploration with even more curiosity and ambition.

We would like to thank PostCoffee for this opportunity to introduce our coffees to the Japanese public, as well as the producers and partners who contribute every day to the identity of 94 Celcius.

And of course, thank you to our community that has been with us from the beginning.

From Quebec to Japan, our ambition remains the same: to never stop exploring what specialty coffee has to offer.

Never Bitter, Always Fair.
