Why choose Prunelino?
A relationship that has grown over five years
At 94 Celcius, we believe that the most interesting coffees often come from relationships built over time.
Our collaboration with Lucia Mamani, which continues for a fifth consecutive year, is a beautiful example of this.
Over the years, we have had the pleasure of discovering different expressions of her terroir and sharing her vision of coffee farming that is attentive to quality, the environment, and family traditions.
Prunelino represents much more than a new coffee on our menu. It is a testament to a relationship built on trust, consistency, and a shared passion for specialty coffee.
Lucia Mamani: between heritage and sustainable vision
Originally from the Yungas in Bolivia, Lucia Mamani perpetuates family expertise while developing her own approach to production.
At the Mamani farm, she prioritizes environmentally friendly agricultural practices and a close relationship with nature.
Her work is based on a simple conviction: the quality of a coffee begins long before it is processed. It takes shape in the attention paid to the plants, the harvests, and every decision made at the farm.
A patient approach that allows Lucia to make her terroir shine while preserving the resources that make it unique.
The honey process: sweetness in the details
Prunelino is processed using the honey process, also known as the Honey Process.
Unlike a fully washed coffee, part of the mucilage—the naturally sweet layer surrounding the bean—is left on during drying.
This method requires special attention to ensure even drying and preserve the quality of the coffee.
In Prunelino, it helps develop a generous sweetness and a beautiful roundness, while allowing the fruity nuances of plum and the indulgent notes of hazelnut and caramel to shine through.
A coffee that finds its place everywhere
Prunelino has the versatility that we particularly appreciate.
As a filter coffee, it reveals more of its fruity delicacy, with expressive plum and caramelized sweetness.
As an espresso, the hazelnut and caramel become more pronounced, creating a round, indulgent, and balanced cup.
Two ways to explore the same terroir, with all the precision of Lucia Mamani's work.
A story that continues, one cup at a time
Five years of collaboration—that is five years of discovering, learning, and developing a relationship that is close to our hearts.
With Prunelino, we celebrate both Lucia Mamani's work and the richness of the Bolivian Yungas.
A warm and harmonious coffee that reminds us that excellence does not always lie in the pursuit of the extraordinary, but also in the consistency of actions and the quality of human relationships.
