A silky and enveloping texture, supported by a lively yet balanced acidity and a natural sweetness that lingers long after the last sip.

A farm between heritage and innovation

Located near San Pedro Necta, in the Huehuetenango region, El Limonar spans between 1,524 and 1,850 meters above sea level. Founded in the 1950s by Don Hugo Chávez Méndez, the farm was once dedicated to corn cultivation before becoming a coffee plantation renowned for the quality of its Bourbons.

Today, under the direction of Ramiro Martinez, El Limonar continues this tradition while adopting a deeply sustainable approach: wastewater recycling, use of coffee grounds as fertilizer, manual weeding, and preservation of a significant canopy of indigenous trees providing over 60% shade for the coffee plants. Nearly a quarter of the property is even protected as a nature reserve.

Why choose El Limonar?

A great terroir of Guatemala

Huehuetenango is considered one of the most prestigious coffee regions in the country. Its high altitude, warm winds from the Isthmus of Tehuantepec, and mineral-rich soils promote slow cherry ripening and remarkable aromatic complexity.

A blend of heritage varieties

The combination of Bourbon, Caturra, and Pache brings balance, sweetness, and complexity. These historic varieties are recognized for their aromatic qualities and their ability to fully express the Guatemalan terroir.

An everyday coffee, without compromise

Accessible, comforting, and precise, El Limonar is the kind of coffee that accompanies both the first morning coffee and a contemplative afternoon break.
