Orbitales 2.0 - Espresso Blend
Description
Why choose: Orbitales 2.0 - Espresso Blend
Orbitales intentionally navigates between two worlds.
First, a chocolatey and sweet base, carried by notes of cocoa, panela, and a generous sweetness. Then come the citrus and ripe fruits, before a touch of red berries brings a new dimension to the espresso.
The result is indulgent without being classic. Fruity without losing its balance.
As an espresso, the texture is enveloping and the sweetness persistent. With milk, the chocolate and red berries meet in a rich and expressive cup.
This is our daily espresso. But nothing in Orbitales is ordinary.
Why choose Orbitales?
An espresso designed differently
We didn’t want to create an espresso blend by simply assembling different coffees.
We wanted to build a precise profile from the very origin.
Orbitales is crafted around a shared vision with our partners: to keep enough chocolate and sweetness to create an accessible daily espresso, while introducing that fruity energy that defines how we view coffee at 94 Celcius.
A sort of epicenter between comfort and exploration.
85% — Recruitment Lot: investing in the next generation
The majority of Orbitales comes from the Recruitment Lot, a coffee sourced from the Young Producer Program in Colombia.
The principle goes far beyond the creation of a community lot.
The program seeks to identify young producers who wish to transform their farm into a viable business in the specialty coffee market.
Tastings are organized with partner producers in different regions of Colombia. Each coffee is evaluated based on quality and flavor profile criteria in order to identify promising producers and connect them to the Young Producer Association.
The Recruitment Lot therefore allows us to buy what they produce today, discover their potential, and begin building a relationship.
With a much bigger goal: to eventually enable them to develop and market their own single-origin lots.
Multiple producers. One shared trajectory.
The Recruitment Lot brings together small producers from regions including Andes, Sonsón, Cauca, and Huila, in Colombia.
Grown between 1,800 and 2,000 meters, their washed coffees are mainly composed of the Castillo and Colombia varieties.
Together, they develop a naturally balanced profile centered on chocolate, citrus, and panela.
Each harvest contributes to a larger collective volume.
Each producer contributes to a much bigger story.
Cooperation. Co-creation. And above all, a starting point.
15% — Sebastián Ramírez: pushing Orbitales out of its orbit
Because we are still 94 Celcius, we wanted to go a little further.
We therefore incorporate 15% of a red-berry co-fermented coffee from Sebastián Ramírez, a producer at Finca El Placer and a partner with whom we have been exploring more experimental profiles for several years.
This small proportion completely transforms the energy of the blend.
The red berries cut through the chocolatey sweetness of the Recruitment Lot, amplifying the fruity character without taking over the cup.
This is precisely the balance we were looking for:
familiar enough to be your daily espresso, different enough to never become mundane.
A blend with an impact that goes beyond the cup
Orbitales represents a vision of coffee that we want to uphold.
Innovative coffee shouldn't just be innovative because of its fermentation or its flavor profile.
Innovation can also be found in the way we buy coffee, the way we develop our relationships, and the way we help create opportunities at the origin.
The Recruitment Lot allows us to discover young producers before they necessarily have the volume, infrastructure, or recognition required to market their coffees individually.
Orbitales offers them a place right now.
And perhaps some of the anonymous producers behind this blend will become the producers whose microlots we will proudly feature in a few years.
For us, that is also what looking toward the future is all about.
