Colombia - Caturra Floral
Description
Why choose: Colombia - Caturra Floral
On the palate, Caturra Floral is all finesse.
The sweetness of honey opens the tasting with roundness, followed by subtle mandarin and lavender that brings radiance and freshness. Caramel prolongs the finish with a comforting, almost velvety texture.
Controlled fermentation enhances Caturra's natural flowering, without ever weighing down the cup. The result is clear, balanced and remarkably drinkable, a coffee that invites both analysis and contemplation.
Why choose Caturra Floral?
A scientific approach to coffee
A biochemical engineer by training, Andrés has always been guided by his coffee-growing roots. His time at Tecnicafé, Cauca's renowned research center, and then at Finca El Paraíso, working alongside Diego Samuel Bermúdez, shaped his understanding of soils, fermentation and process standardization.
Building a long-term vision
Today, Andrés devotes himself entirely to his own project. He now owns two farms in the Cauca, growing varieties such as Geisha, Chiroso, Papayo, Bourbon Rosado and Sidra.
His mission: to make top-quality coffees accessible on a larger scale, without compromising on precision.
To achieve this, he has set up cherry collection points in Cauca and Nariño, enabling centralized processing and remarkable consistency from one batch to the next.
A Caturra that expresses its full potential
This batch perfectly illustrates Caturra's philosophy: a coffee that's easy to understand, stable, but never banal. Every decision, from fermentation time to gradual drying, is designed to preserve the bean's natural sweetness.
