Making filter coffee is, in my opinion, the best way to bring coffee to life. At first glance the simplicity can be disconcerting, but if we want to fully express the grains, I have to tell you introduce tofor over .Many people ask me what is my favorite instrument I have several! For this second article I have therefore decided to give you my top 3 of my favorite infusers that I use to have a cup worthy of the name. Of course, this ranking is purely personal, so take it with a grain of salt, or coffee!
Third place: Kalita Wave
I love using the Wave, it's such a beautiful object. I believe that in the preparation of a coffee one should not neglect the aesthetic appearance . The V60 is undoubtedly the instrument most used by third wave coffee shops. Its "V" shape has a 60 degree angle (V60!) and also works on the principle of gravity . The shape of it is conical, with a single hole, which will ensure that the coffee will be infused in a rather different way. The coarseness of the grind and the flow rate of the water poured over the coffee will have a crucial importance on the final result, hence its complexity to master . There is a wide range of different recipes that combine technique, time and precise dosage. If you give yourself the chance to refine your method, with a little practice, you can have fabulous results.

Oh, my great love! No matter how many instruments I use, I always go back to the Aéropress. I must admit that the appearance of this one is not the most attractive, entirely made of plastic, but it is above all the result that will make you happy! Unlike its colleagues listed above, the Aéropress uses a method infusion by immersion, a bit like thefrench press. The coffee is left in a room and will be pushed with a piston through a paper or metal filter. The beauty of this technique is that there are several possible variations or one can experiment with many parameters to accentuate the desired notes in the cup. There is even a world competition dedicated solely for this technique each year: theWorld Aeropress Championship! Each participant will try to impress the judges in order to get their hands on the big title, representing their country of origin. Being a Geek I like to have the possibility to play with several parameters and adjust, according to my taste, the result.. The Aéropress is therefore for me the instrument that wins the gold medal!
