"Kiambu is a county in the former Central Province of Kenya. It is part of Greater Nairobi, which comprises four of the country's 47 counties. It is home to the Bantu ethnic group known as the Kikuyu.

This coffee comes from 1,200 farmers around the Githongo factory in Kiambu. The plant is one of the factories of the giant Komothai FCS. It was established in 1968 and is owned by small-scale farmers. The soil is made up of fertile red volcanic sediments, with a few plots of loam and black cotton. Coffee growing is the only cash crop apart from subsistence farming and dairy farming, which has improved the livelihoods of the local population.

The resulting cup is reminiscent of mango, apricot and blackberry.
Recipe
